Spend time in the gardens, which are at peak color from the middle of June through September.
Spend time outdoors during any season by exploring Ward Reservation. It’s 700 acres of open and wooded land for everyone to enjoy. The most popular thing to do at this public space is climbing the three different hills and see the Merrimack Valley and even the famous Boston Skyline, reminding you that Andover isn’t that far from the city. At the summit of one hill are the Solstice Stones, which mark the cardinal points on a compass.
Explore almost 10 miles of trails at Ward Reservation, which are perfect for walks or jogging. Or venture onto the boardwalk that takes you to Pine Hole Pond, which is a quaking bog. Quite a few animals and plants call the bog home, making it a place of strange beauty.
