Now that the kids are all heading back to school, preparation and organization are at the forefront of your day. You need to make sure they are cleaned, fed and ready to go in the morning and you don’t want other things on your mind. We will help you take one thing off the list:
Wrap & Seal
Pests love crumbs and when they are looking for an easy meal, your pantry is going to be one of the first places they check. For chips, nuts and other bagged snacks, make sure you have Ziploc bags or clips to seal them after use. Organization is a pests worst enemy!
Examine Backpacks
If your child is reusing their backpack from one year to the next, you’ll want to make sure you clean it out. All kinds of bugs could have found their way into it over the Summer in search of some lunch from last year. Kids are not always so clean, and you might be disappointed with what you find in there! Take all the contents of the bag out, flip it inside out and wash it on gentle!
Make Lunches Beforehand
If you are currently making your child’s lunch in the morning before school, try getting it done the night before! There is so much going on in the morning that it can be easy to spill or forget to seal something after use. Keeping organized and ahead of schedule is great for pest prevention.
Set Aside a List of Chores
Teach your children some discipline and prevent pests at the same time. Have your children sweep or wipe down counters before they leave for school so you don’t have a mess to worry about before the day really gets going. This will also prevent pest hangouts while you’re at work!
From all of us here at Pest Control Unlimited, we would like to wish you a very happy and healthy school year! If there are any pest issues that arise during those homework sessions, be sure to let us know and we will be out there as soon as possible.
