Arachnophobia is a condition that some people have that makes them deathly afraid of spiders. While not all of us have it that bad, most people would probably say they prefer to keep spiders out of their general vicinity. But did you know that we NEED spiders in our lives? They keep harmful insect populations in check and they eat ticks and other annoying creatures. If you want to remove spiders without killing them, these three tips can help»
Trust the Cup
The most effective and simple way to remove spiders is the cup and paper method. We know spiders can be scary, but they actually help remove more harmful insects from your property so you want them outside of your home. If you see one on the wall or floor, approach it slowly with a clear cup. Place the cup over the spider and hold it in place. Once it is secure, place a thick piece of paper underneath the spider and cup and gently move it to the yard.
Just Keep Sweeping
Another good method for safely removing spiders is the sweep tactic. Just as you would sweep up crumbs or dust, sweep up spiders and gently move them to your dustpan. Hold the broom over the pan until you are outside so they can’t just simply jump out.
Vacuum Sealed
If you’re deathly afraid of spiders, the vacuum method ensures that you won’t come into contact with any of them. The first step is to put your vacuum on the lightest setting and make sure the filter is clear. After you have done this, take the vacuum, remove all of the attachments and gently suck up all of the spiders in your home. There is a chance this might kill the spider, which is why the first two methods are more preferable.
